Two for Joy

in Moher Moments

Waving here I say “Good morning Mr.Magpie, how is the wife? “

Anyone else greet the magpie like us here ,to avoid any bad luck it is said ?

These two magpies are frequent visitors to our garden which Sadie gets great mileage from chasing , I think they enjoy the chase too 🤣

I’m always happy to see two magpies together as the old rhyme goes:

One for sorrow, Two for Joy, Three for a girl, Four for a boy, Five for silver, Six for gold, Seven for a secret never to be told, Eight for a wish, Nine for a kiss, Ten a surprise you should be careful not to miss, Eleven for health, Twelve for wealth, Thirteen beware it's the devil himself.

A nice side effect of this lockdown is noticing the normal life and nature at play. Such as the birds here that seems to be sweeter than ever or is it that we never slowed down enough to notice?

So for today’s #MoherMoment do take a moment see what you hear that maybe you didn't notice before 💚

Join us tomorrow for some Meanderings, Memories and More… from Moher Cottage, St. Brigid's Well, Cliffs of Moher in Co. Clare, Ireland

Take Care all until we travel again.
